Abosie Origins
Abosie Architects are a Chartered Architects Practice based near Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders. Founded in 2022 by Blair Milne, Abosie provide a diverse range of services and specialise in bespoke new build houses and extensions.
Blair is an experienced Chartered Architect having worked for some of the country’s largest and best respected practices. For the decade prior to Abosie, Blair was a founding director of MAC Architects which became an established award winning practice. He relocated from his native Aberdeenshire to set up home in the Scottish Borders following his marriage to local lass Kathryn Wylie.
As an RIAS Chartered Practice, Abosie Architects provide peace of mind for our clients. The RIAS (Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland) require the highest standards of professional conduct and performance from their members. The title 'Architect' is protected by law and any person using this title must have the appropriate qualifications and must register with the ARB (Architects Registration Board).

Abosie Architects’ ultimate goal is to provide a level of service, expertise and value for money that is unrivalled. Whilst always on the look out for inspiration and innovation we believe the foundation of any design evolves from the vision of our clients and opportunities of the site. We are passionate about design, materials, the play of light, textures, context and volume. Ultimately we believe we can produce great architecture no matter what the budget.
We embrace the latest interactive design software to allow our clients to visualise and refine their projects long before the construction phase commences. This approach, used by only a select few practices in the country, optimises precision and efficiency, and above all maximises value for money.
We are passionate about sustainable design and apply a holistic approach which blends energy efficiency and functionality. Ultimately we would like to design each building to be completely self-sufficient and carbon neutral, but are realistic about individual budget constraints. We strive to work with our clients to find the best compromise between budget and energy efficiency.
